写真描写のレッスンは難しいけど得るものが多い

オンライン英会話120回目
今日は若いのにプロ意識の高い英国の先生。
写真描写のレッスンです。
別の先生とレッスンしたのを復習しながら準備をしたので
予習に1時間半も費やしてしまったけど、
知識の定着のための必要時間と割り切る(笑)

レッスンが終わった後に
正直、とても時間がかかるし
他の問題集や教材に手を出したくなることもありますが
オンライン英会話の予習と復習に注力することに決めたのです。
英語がまだまだなのは自分でもわかってますので
英語ポリスや文法ポリスの皆さん、優しく見守ってくださ～い！
私の回答
Exercise1
We can see some deep fried cake on a wooden rectangle plate in this picture.
I guess the dish is a good choice for a snack.
The crust may have turned brown while they were deep fried.
Outside looks crunchy and inside looks tender.
One of them is cut in half and crumbled.
I’m guessing the dish is so crumbly and hard to eat.
We cannot see steam from the food, so it’s not hot, I personally think.
We can see some herbs around the plate for decoration.
A bowl of dressing is on the side.
Exercise2
In this picture, we can see baked octopus tentacles and some pieces of vegetables, including potatoes and onions on a white glass round plate.
Probably they’re fresh from the oven.
It’s topped with some green herbs to decorate the dish.
We can see a knife and a fork on the side.
Olives are served in another white smaller plate.
Octopus is very chewy.
Exercise3
We can see a stir-fry served in a pan made of cast iron because cast iron is a heat resistant material.
Beef or pork and plenty of some pieces of chopped vegetables including carrots, bell peppers, bean sprouts, etc. are fried or sautéed with some spices.
I think the dish is a Korean food. I’m familiar with it. The taste is sweet and savory, I think.
備忘録
① tender は肉に対して使う。パンやケーキには soft, fluffy, fresh を使う
② golden brown は料理でよく使う語。きつね色のニュアンス。
先生によると小麦粉を使った料理に対して使うとのこと。
③ Exercise1の料理が謎だったので先生に聞いてみると、
ミートボールみたいなのは falafel （中東料理）
ドレッシングみたいなのは tzatziki （ギリシャ料理）
先生のお住まいのロンドンでは、どちらも人気なんですって！
falafel は油で揚げるのを除けば、豆と野菜からできているからヘルシー。
味はsavoryだって。甘いのかと思ったのでビックリ。
tzaziki はマヨネーズまたはギリシャヨーグルトにすりおろしたキュウリやレモン汁などを入れたものでラム肉にあうんだって！（私のリスニングが正しければ。。。）
都内にお店を発見したので、to do list に早速追加(笑)
④ stir の発音。
スペルにつられて、スティアと発音していて
車のハンドルを握るという動詞の steer に聞こえると指摘を受けました。
stir はどちらかというと スタァと発音します。
