IELTS speaking section

緊張して体が強張る = to go tense

to let the car go で表現してみました。

その他

When I started walking the crosswalk the other day, (the traffic light was green), I suddenly heard honking. I turned around and saw a taxi turning right in the intersection. Then a car was driving right in front of me!! I was at a loss for words*1.

I think the taxi driver almost hit the car and honked. Thank goodness because that alearted me and I saw what was happening. Maybe I could walk right into the car, and the car could have hit me!

I saw the driver. She looked middle-aged or elderly. She didn’t slow down. She didn’t pull over*2 the car. She kept looking forward. It was very dangerous!! Fortunately nothing happened.

Sometimes drivers are very careless. They think they can quickly go, even the traffic light changed, but it’ so dangerous. I think peple on bicycle are sometiems doing the same.

This gave me such a shock and made me feel nervous.

Now, when I see a car coming, I go really tense. And I stop to let the car go. I don't trust traffic lights anymore. So I keep checking when I cross a crosswalk.
